Karen Kangas Dwyer, Ph.D. (University of Nebraska) has been the Public Speaking Course Director and the Chair of the Human Resources and Training Graduate Certificate program at the University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO). She has taught several communication classes as well as workshops for students and professionals on how to successfully overcome public speaking anxiety and interview anxiety. Dr. Dwyer has received the UNO and the University of Nebraska statewide system teaching awards. She started the UNO Speech Center and has written several books, papers and published articles on helping students overcome speech anxiety. In addition, she has served as the Chair of the National Communication Association Division of Communication Apprehension and Competence
